If you're looking at the rise of an Internet startup, it is always good to start with the numbers. According to a recent Newsweek article, YouTube is now serving up more than 30 million video views a day, and receiving about 35,000 video uploads daily from its users. Alexa.com has them ranked as the 32nd most visited site on the net.

A big reason why the external player was so effective: Play buttons are seductive. When people see one, they instantly know what it does and want to click it.

Jensen Harris: An Office User Interface Blog : Fonts
Last month, I introduced Segoe UI, the new user interface font for Office 12 and Windows Vista.
Of course, you spend most of your time in Office not looking at the user interface, but working with documents. Times New Roman has been Word's default font since Word 6.0 introduced support for TrueType fonts. Although there are numerous other options available, most documents today are produced in Times New Roman, Arial, or more recently the Web-friendly choice Verdana.

Mac Mini for Mom
My Mom’s old EMachines Win98 box wasn’t actually broken, but it was tough to support remotely and the camera-company software that came with her digicam was really lame. So I ordered her a Mac mini and now it’s up and running. This gave me a (rare) chance to watch the OS X experience through a novice’s eyes.
