Kubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) Select an image Kubuntu is distributed on two types of images described below. O ubuntu eu não sei, mas o Kubuntu 8.10 tá horrível, principalmente por causa do KDE 4.1, que simplesmente não dá prá utilizar. Vai ser difícil minha esposa se acostumar com ele, porque foram retiradas quase todas as opções de que ela gostava.

Eu particularmente acho que a mudança do Ubuntu não pode ser radical, ele tem que ter algo de sua identidade passada, pois o visual do Ubuntu é único. E como o rotulo do Bombril ou da Maisena. Depois de alguns meses desde o lançamento da versão 8.04, os desenvolvedores do Ubuntu anunciam a disponibilidade do primeiro alpha (fase de testes) do Ubuntu 8.10, codinome Intrepid Ibex. Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 1 traz como novidades o Kernel 2.6.26 e a fusão dos seus repositórios com os do Debian Sid. Este primeiro alpha não está disponível em LiveCD, apenas a versão "Alternate", mas segundo o anuncio, eles serão disponibilizados a partir do alpha 2. Para quem usa a versão 8.04, pode atualizar para esta nova versão usando o comando: update-manager-d Vale a pena lembrar que esta é uma versão em fase de testes, e por isso não é recomendada para uso em produção.
