Firefox on the Mac < Walking Like Giant Cranes

by jpcaruana & 1 other (via)
As the Firefox release cycle marches onwards, there’s been a lot of talk about what sort of things are really affecting people day to day that we should fix, particularly on the Mac. If it’s anything, Mac users love to nitpick (guilty as charged). So, fellow Appleites, I put it to you: What sucks about Firefox on the Mac? Send mail to macfirefox at this domain, and let me know what you think. To start you off, here are some things I know people want: * Native Form Widgets (currently scheduled for Firefox 3) * Keychain Integration * Firefox should have a Unified toolbar (not completely hopeless, it turns out) * Performance could be better (as always) If you’ve got more specific nits, that’s great, mail it in. If you think the stuff already on here is really important, I want to hear about it. If there are features in Camino/Safari/OmniWeb/iCab that you absolutely can’t live without, tell me. The more mail I get about this, the better. Feel free to help get the word out that I’m taking suggestions, by the way.

Firefox Tip: Reopen the last closed tab with Ctrl Shift T - Lifehacker

by julie (via)
The heavens opened and a bright warm light shone down today when I discovered the Firefox keyboard shortcut that re-opens the most recently closed tab: Ctrl-Shift-T. (Cmd-Shift-T for Mac users.) This one ranks up there with Ctrl-T (new tab) and Ctrl L (go to address bar). Our time together was short and clicky, but now it's over between us, tab bar right-click menu. Fare thee well. — Gina Trapani

Favicons on Bookmarks Toolbar on Mac - MozillaZine Forums

by nhoizey
In the default Firefox theme (1.5 and 2.0 RC1) on a Macintosh, favicons do not show up on the Bookmarks Toolbar. Various other themes (e.g. Pinstripe for Firefox) also lack the favicons. However, other themes (e.g. Phoenity Modern) do have favicons show up on the Bookmarks Toolbar. What's toggling whether or not the favicons are showing up?

Pinstripe for Firefox: Now with 20% more Macintosh

by dfracheb & 2 others
This update to the stand-alone Pinstripe theme turned out to be more of a redesign than I originally intended. Stephen Horlander sent in a cool concept for the browser tabs. Check out the etched text on the inactive tabs. You’ll see some of the other details in the screenshot below. The theme has some rough edges but should be usable.
