Are Film Ratings Really Useful? « Napping at Red Lights
(via)Early this month in my Summer Family Movies Preview, I stated that goodness doesn’t sell after noting that there were no G-rated movies scheduled for summer release. But apparently too raunchy and too violent doesn’t sell either. According to an article in USA Today, movie execs are clamoring to avoid a NC-17 rating which leaves a movie “virtually unsellable.”

'End of the World' Might Not be the End of 'Pirates'
(via)Avast me hearties, I have good news for all you Pirates of the Caribbean fans. LA Times confirms rumors that Johnny Depp is willing to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow and that a fourth Pirates of Caribbean film might not be such a far fetch dream.

Review: Meet the Robinsons
(via)My children loved last year's Disney hit Cars, so we couldn't wait to see Meet The Robinsons. We'd been watching the trailers with the musical frogs and the dinosaur with "a big head and little arms" since the Superbowl. If you can make it through the rough, jerky beginning, the film proves itself to be a worthwhile watch with a few good messages for the children.
