ICI delivers solid growth

ICI, subject of takeover rumours by Dutch rival Akzo Nobel, has announced an 8% increase in pre-tax profits for last year. The company delivered solid sales growth and a pre-tax profit of £407m despite a slowdown in its US Paints Division.
