Published quarterly, Foto8 online magazine of international photojournalism, features many freelance photographers who work with little or no guarantees on a project. These pictures are a testament in some cases to their persistent refusal to bow down to the recent pressures to cheapen journalism. Instead these photojournalists strive to find ways to cover the stories that are important today.
