查理斯嘲諷中港領導人
在日記中，中國官員往往成為查理斯的嘲笑對象。他在談到江總在像「北京人民大會堂」的會展中心發表演說時，說他「起立，離開和他一起的一群駭人老蠟像，去到講台前」，又說他的「惡心」演說像政治宣傳，而台下支持者總會在適當時候大聲拍掌﹔而中方安排、令旗幟飄揚的人造風，更被查理斯嘲為「終極驚嚇」(ultimate horror)之舉。
