除了面子上小小的尴尬，GFW还需要面对更加实质性的威胁：Google提供的在线服务，在中国有众多用户，封锁Google之后，会有大量本是“良民”的用户尝试采取技术手段访问Google，看看wikipedia，就不难想象全面封锁Google之后会发生什么：长城变高了，付出的代价是它变薄了。
