龜趣來嘻-Unlimited: HEMiDEMi的下一步:參與式新聞編輯

我在HemiDemi 變臉這一篇裡頭偷渡了一句話:「在HemiDemi上,我終於看見台灣公民新聞的影子了。」 我之所以會這樣想,是因為現在HEMiDEMi的首頁其實已經可以看作一份報紙的頭版,或是一家新聞網站的首頁;HEMiDEMi的系統會把最新的或是最重要的新聞選取前三則放在最明顯的位置,並配合圖片或網站截圖,藉此凸顯其重要性,這和報紙頭版或新聞網站首頁的注意力攫取邏輯是一樣的,但是極大的不同點在於:HEMiDEMi上頭的內容是使用者提供的、資訊的發佈時間是使用者決定的、哪一則消息夠資格登上「熱門書籤」也是使用者集體的判斷,而且資料來源無限寬廣。

我觉得Group应该针对服务的内容来设立,而不是为了Group而Group。很多SNS网站的Group大家也看到了,join的人很多,但是仅仅join,帖子和活动几乎没有。相比之下,Flickr的Group和百度的贴吧却非常的成功,原因上,flickr是为了分享某个主题的照片而创建Group,它是在flickr的主业的一个延伸,而不是让用户自己创建类似论坛的东西而设,百度呢,到贴吧的人都有着强烈的共同的信息需求,因此也能活跃起来。

今天计世的web2.0年会,最精彩的话就是周鸿一这句了:web2.0就是一个筐,谁都往里装东西。 好像真的是阿,从去年Blogger开始讨论web2.0之后,终于所有人都忍不住跟进了,想想这个名词,开始被我们叫做“后泡沫时代”(王建硕语),然后是新互联网,不知道什么时候开始,web2.0开始一统江湖,其间虽然有bokee的方博试图用“互联网2.0”来再次正名,但是这一次草根的力量是强大的,终于让web2.0的雷声传遍江湖。

2006 TWBoF:部落格文化回歸網路草根媒體精神

由全台部落客自動發起的第二屆網誌年會於台北舉行,蕃薯藤早於去年即主動參與第一屆活動,由於近年積極推動部落格的發展獲得熱烈的迴響,因此年會特地邀請蕃薯藤執行長蒞臨致詞。 陳正然在致詞中指出,部落格讓使用者擁有主動發起、主動選擇的權利,一般大眾可以透過部落格簡單的介面,即時發表自己的意見,與對共同議題有興趣的人討論互動,這不僅是網路技術應用的進步,更是另一種文化上的演進與提昇。

Blogger们也想让自己的BLOG被更多的人记住,他们想成名的一片苦心我当然能理解——我也想成名,我也想让人家记住我,我也想“让人印像深刻”,但我选择的不是他这种捷径,而是想办法把自己的网站设计成一种令某些人印象深刻的简洁风格,然后坚持用一个令人联想到已故歌星张雨生的头像,我把这个头像用在各种场合:网站注册用这个头像;在名片上印上这个头像;碰到老朋友就把这个头像用蓝牙或红外把这个照片发给他,并让他设置为来电大头像;QQ上用这个头像;MSN上用这个头像,最近,Gtalk也支持头像了,这下可好了,我又多了一个放自己的头像的地方了。

金石堂書店總經理周傳芳說,金石堂近年來強調虛擬、實體書店合一,資源共享。他希望金石堂網路書店能夠將閱讀的深度帶入「Yah oo!奇摩」。 周傳芳還說書籍是各虛擬、實體通路都不可欠缺的商品。而書籍因為種類、數量繁多,經常有新的產品問世,使得整體圖書產品具有高度流行性,能吸引消費者的目光。依照金石堂網路書店的統計,該書店每日瀏覽人次可達10萬。周傳芳說,與其他入口網站閒逛的消費者相比,金石堂網路書店的10萬人次具有「目標清楚集中,為買書而來」之特色。

蕃薯藤-新聞-YouTube.com全球盛行 共同創辦人來自台灣

共同創辦人陳士駿與賀利 (Chad Hurley)兩人之前是同事,二零零五年一月份的一場聚會後,苦惱不能找到在網上分享聚會錄影內容的方式。一個月後,兩位老同事便在賀利家中車庫裡,設計可在網路分享錄影內容的網站,也就是YouTube誕生。 從個人簡單的點子到專業網上視訊網站,商業模式受到創投青睞。投資者是鼎鼎大名的紅杉創投,投入一億一千五百萬美元資金,它同時也是Google創立的主要投資者。十一個月後,證明紅杉創投果然慧眼獨具,它成為網路上最流行的網站之一,平均每天有三萬個視訊內容上載。

Mash-ups: Business Models and Trends

Paul Rademacher talked about how Housing Maps, which is a mash-up of Google Maps and craigslist, came out of a real world need for him and grew from that. The lesson here is that usefulness is a key driver for success in the Web mash-ups world. He also mentioned that Housing Maps isn't necessarily a pure API mash-up, because the craigslist data is taken from their RSS feeds and then he stores the content on his own server. So mash-ups are still painful to implement, despite all the hype around using APIs to deliver them. Paul also said he that reached 900,000 visitors to Housing Maps without any marketing effort, which is an indication of how mash-ups can be low-cost to both produce and market.

Developing a mashup can be a lot of fun and it's usually low cost, because you're using (semi) open tools and data. Forget fun though for a minute - is there a business in mashups? There are obvious benefits for the data providers, for example both Google and craigslist benefit from increased traffic to their sites. In most cases that leads to increased revenue as well. But what's in it for the mashup developer, apart from publicity and prestige?

But there is little clear-cut evidence of exactly what this means. In the most basic sense, a business model is the method of doing business by which a company can sustain itself -- that is, generate revenue. The business model spells-out how a company makes money by specifying where it is positioned in the value chain.

Yee: 目前国内network形式还不明朗,没有成功经营的经验,也没有听说哪个Blogger因为加入network而得到使自己明显受益。 这个不成熟的结论是之前跟几个加入witao的朋友聊天得出 ^_^ 黎安琪: 这个倒是。blog本身的功能就是记录和交流,如果通过network平台能得以更好的交流,那也不错了。

It wants more. Six Apart doesn’t disclose financials, but it’s the biggest independent company in the blogging space, with 15 million users and 125 employees. Still, many of its products are cheap or free. The company’s most expensive hosted blogging service for consumers is $14.95 per month. By contrast, the new TypePad Business class, which amps up security and storage, starts at $89.95 per blog per month. Business executives may not be known for their gripping narratives, but a barely penetrated market with deep pockets is a pretty compelling opportunity.

Google Earth Blog: Discovery Channel Releases Video Links for Google Earth

Yesterday the Discovery Channel announced a collaboration with Google Earth to show links to some of its videos. The initial set of links are for videos about National Parks. The first place I saw the collection was on the Google Earth download page.
