Should Children’s Books Have a Rating System?

(via)
A recent article has me wondering if we should be taking a closer look at what we qualify as “children’s books.”

How to Build a Better Mouse Trap - I Mean Pirate Ship

(via)
Saturday my three-year-old twins were in a community parade with their preschool. But to be in the parade you needed a float. Here’s where mom duty becomes real challenging.

Is it Really ADHD or Just Too Much Pressure?

(via)
I’ve always contented that we, as a society, are too quick to label our kids with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, pump them full of meds and forget about the issue. I’ve read two articles recently that support my theory.

The Anxiety of the First Day of School

(via)
My kids started school this week. Okay, so it was just preschool and they only go for ½ a day two days a week, but for me it was still this big milestone in their lives.

Christmas in March

(via)
On Saturday, my children woke up and scurried downstairs to the living room like it was Christmas morning to find a pile of “new toys” much to their delight. What, you say. It’s only March.

Currently, my husband and I are struggling every night to get our twins down for bed. But apparently, we are not alone in this struggle to get our children to bed. Check out this video of a father that puts this struggle to music in a bedtime song for parents.

Damon to Guest Star on ‘Arthur’

(via)
I’m guessing that it won’t be his box office success with The Borne Ultimatum that will capture Matt Damon’s daughter’s attention, but his latest guest starring role. An animated Damon will guest star on the September 3 episode of Arthur

Does McDonald’s Food Really Taste Better?

(via)
A recent study indicates that preschoolers prefer the taste of food in McDonald’s wrappers to the same food in generic wrappers. I agree that children prefer the McDonald’s food, but I don’t think it has anything to do with taste.

Do Men Drive Better than Women? Kids say so

(via)
A recent British study by Privilege Insurance, revealed that kids prefer to ride with their dads because they think they are safer drivers — but not by much.

National TV Turn-Off Week

(via)
Today marks the start of National TV Turn-Off Week. According to the Center for Screen-Time Awareness, turning off the TV allows your family to spend quality time together reading, thinking, creating and doing. Personally, I think that denying my children television will actually make them want it more. In fact, I actually use television as a development tool for my twin two-year-olds.
