Fiz a instalação com as versões amd64 e i386 e o problema se repete. Executei o comando pppoeconf para conexão com a internet, fiz todos os downloads atualizando todos pacotes,naveguei pela internet e depois fiz a instalação dos drivers restritos.Aí o sistema pede para ser reiniciado. Quando volta não consigo mais a conexão da internet. Quando da intalação do pppoeconf pedi conexão no inicio de cada seção. Não funciona o pon dsl-provider. Fico totalmente vendido, sem poder fazer mais nada. Isto não acontecia na versão 8.10. Sabe de alguma dica? Agradeço antecipadamente. SantAnna

If your computer has only the minimum amount of memory, the installation process will take longer than normal, but will complete successfully, and the system will perform adequately once installed. Systems with less memory may be able to select "Install Ubuntu" from the boot menu to run just the installer, rather than the whole desktop, or may be able to use the alternate install CD.
