There are a few different ways to sync visuals to music: Manual – live controlling visuals with keyboard or midi controls. Sequencing – pre-analyzing the music and scripting an animation as a list of timecoded events. Midi Input –  if you have access to the music’s midi data, this can be a great way to drive visuals. Audio Reactive - code driven visuals that automatically adapt to a live audio input. Here I want to talk about the last method. This can be useful for “Hands Free VJing”, allowing you to sit back and have the visuals automatically sync, or in a video game where you want some part of the visuals to react to the soundtrack.

This is my final thesis project. I created info-graphic, motion piece. My objective is to make Japanese people to think about that everything happening here in Japan, isn't that normal. So I created this video from foreigner's point of view, rather than Japanese people's point of view.

Solar is a short animated film by graduate creatives Ian Wharton and Edward Shires. A tale of the sun, moon and two characters who inhabit a planet that relies on day and night perhaps more than it would seem.

Je vous propose de découvrir Freedom, la nouvelle réalisation de Katsuhiro Otomo, l'auteur du célèbre Akira et plus récent Steamboy. Il devrait y avoir 6 OAV de 30mins de ce projet qui à la base était une campagne de pub pour les Nissin Cup Noodle à laquelle a pris part Katsuhiro Otomo. This cartoon is about schoolkids who started making fake video cameras out of card board boxes and toilet paper tubes to "film" incidents around the schoolyard. Because they had these phony cameras to hide behind, they distanced themselves from each other, losing their concern for the wellbeing of their fellow students. The school administration responded by banning the cameras. It's a perfect story for Ware to animate.

Sheridan design students Jonathan Klassen and Dan Rodrigues present a lovely animated short entitled An Eye For Annai. "This film was done by me and Dan Rodrigues in our third year at Sheridan College's Classical Animation Program. Everything is hand drawn and animated. We coloured the animation digitally, and the backgrounds are a mix of traditional and digital. I played the recorder for the soundtrack, and the jazz music near the middle is from Louis Armstrong's "Jeepers Creepers". The whole film comes in at just under 5 minutes long, and we're pretty darn proud of it. Tell your friends."
