FWAPhoto goes mobile A few weeks ago theFWA released their brand new FWAPhoto concept. An online gallery showcasing the worlds most beautiful artwork. Together with Group94, they released an AIR-based screensaver called ‘lightboxer’ which brings FWAPhoto to the desktop. It visualizes the photo of the day, but that’s not all. In order to personalize the photostream, people are able to add their favourite pictures in the lightboxer. This is perfectly manageble on fwaphoto.com, the beautiful homepage of this initiative.

I have big news! What heFont, the ingenious font recognition app that I use on a regular basis is now available for the iPhone. With the iPhone version of WhatTheFont you can use the phone’s built-in camera to photograph the text in question (or choose an existing image from your photo albums). The app allows you to crop the image, focusing on only the important parts before uploading. After confirming which characters are used in the image, the app provides a list of possible matching fonts. You can then either e-mail a link to a MyFonts page with more info on that font, or open it up in the iPhone’s built-in Safari web browser.

After I posted about the Poladroid app some people were asking about a Lomo version of the concept. My friend Erik Pettersson has released a set of photo processing apps for the iPhone which give your digital shots that vintage warmth. There’s a Vint Red, Green and B&W plugin, each treating the colors a bit differently. My favorite is the Green, it definitely gives you that low ISO Lomo feel complete with vignetting. To celebrate my new Iphone and the fact that darkness is looming over me. I´ve done this: An induction powered yoyocharger for Apple. And since solarchargers don´t work at night or in Sweden half the year, this should be a smash hit. The induction technology is based on this.. And of course there is a small onboard LI cell to store the electricity generated. So no need to charge as you yoyo. Yoyo and then charge.
