Osram show new technology for large transparent OLEDs
The OLED prototypes that OSRAM Opto Semiconductors has developed as part of a research project are large transparent light sources only a few hundred micrometers thick. Thanks to new technology these organic light emitting diodes do not need separate encapsulation and can be made incredibly thin in any layout. The transparent test samples have a luminous area of 210 cm² and are already showing the enormous potential of OLED light sources. They offer a tantalizing glimpse of the extraordinary lighting applications that may one day become reality.

Asus EEE PC 1000HE
(via)Der bereits angekündigte aufgemotzte Asus EEE 1000 der 1000HE kann in Amerika vorbestellt werden. Das “E” steht wohl für Extended. Auf gut deutsch gesagt der 1000HE ist ein aufgemotzter 1000H EEE.
Die wichtigsten Neuerungen sind das der neue HE ein neues Tastatur Design hat, und Asus verspricht bis zu 9,5 Stunden Laufzeit für den 1000HE. Sonst hat der Asus 1000HE einen Intel Atom N280 Prozessor mit 1,66 Ghz und dem Intel GD40 Chipsatz. Das Display ist 10 Zoll groß und hat ein LED Backlight Display.

Besonderheiten gegenüber der Konkurrenz:
Der Mini Ui 3520 hebt sich beim vorhandenen Express Karten Slot gegenüber der Konkurrenz ab. Wer z.B. 3G Modems, GPS Adapter oder TV Karten mit seinem Netbook verwenden will der ist bei diesem Gerät richtig.
