Mother Jones (although not as critical as it could be, Mother Jones includes consistently relevant articles)

American Prospect (once the best magazine in US, now a bit less insightful, but always includes at least one critical article)

New York Review of Books

Financial Times (one of the better balanced sources in corporate media) www.ft.com/home/us

Wall Street Journal

Wall Street Journal (full access requires subscription; some of the best reporting on economic issues. Biased political analysis. It is very well written. Promotional subscriptions can be as low as $99/yr for both the paper and internet access)

Washington Post

Washington Post (very limited reporting, but occasional scoops and insights; reactionary editorials.)
