In this technical tip, we will learn to extract text from different slide shapes inside PowerPoint 2007 presentations by using Aspose.Slides for Java. We will extract text from slide shapes like Placeholders, Auto Shapes, Group Shapes and tables etc. Below is code example that can traverse through each shape belonging to every slide inside a PPTX presentation and extract text from that on portion level. We are pleased to announce the new release of Aspose.Imaging for .NET 1.5.0. This month’s release provides extensive support for the Tiff image format. You can now load Tiff images and export any image to Tiff format. This release also provides the means to concatenate several images to one multi paged Tiff image and save each frame/page of a multi paged Tiff image to a separate image of any supported format. We have also provided the support for some of the widely used compression algorithms. At the moment, the supported compression types for Tiff image format are, CCITT Fax Group 3, CCITT Fax Group 4 and RLE.

We are pleased to announce the release of Aspose.Email for .NET 1.7.0. This month’s release provides support for the creation of TNEF message files, setting Appointment’s time zone information from an instance of System.TimeZoneInfo and detects Outlook message type using the MapiMessage class. An important enhancement has been made so that the MHTML renderer includes the embedded images as well as the email header in the output. We have also fixed some issues regarding embedded images, encoding, attachments for EML to MSG conversion.

The latest version of Aspose.Pdf for .NET (6.8.0) has been released. This release includes the ability to shrink the contents of a PDF file to a smaller size so you’ll save hard disk space. The TextFragmentAbsorber has always been a great mechanism for searching & replacing particular text strings inside a PDF file and now it lets you include a subset of the font used when replacing PDF file contents. This feature helps to reduce the size of PDF document significantly. The Pdf class under the Aspose.Pdf.Generator namespace contains an overloaded Save method which returns the resultant PDF in Response object. To provide the same feature for the Document class, we have introduced a new overloaded method which returns the resultant PDF to Response object. Please note that in this release, we have specifically improved the PDF concatenation functionality and we also are introducing the capability to merge XFA forms. Numerous issues related to form field filling, text extraction, conversion of PDF files into image format, PDF printing and much more have been fixed in this release.

We are pleased to announce the new release of Aspose.Email for Java 1.6.0. With this new release you can add time zone information with an appointment request and saving of any message to OFT file format. In this version we have introduced the EnumerateMessageObjects and EnumerateMapiMessages methods to the FolderInfo class to improve the PST reading performance. This release also improved EULA for Aspose.Email for Java and checking the presence of Mail Internet Headers before converting to MHT.

For this purpose, we have introduced the Page.ConnectShapesViaConnector API. Release 2.1.0 also supports radial and circular layouts. Now you can lay out shapes in radial and circular styles. The new release of Aspose.Tasks for .NET 4.2.0 includes new remarkable features of calculating critical path, duration and a resource assignment’s time phased data. You can get a task’s duration in different time units including minutes, hours, days, weeks and months. This technical tip shows how to read messages from Thunderbird Mail Storage. First of all open the Thunderbird’s storage file in File Stream. After that create an instance of MboxrdStorageReader class and pass the above stream to its constructor.
