Students see a great future for bins

Brabantia has teamed up with the University of the West of England in Bristol to run a design project to find the kitchen bin of the future. The project will be undertaken by final-year students on the university's product design programmes, and starts this month with a briefing by Brabantia managers. Brian Walden dies aged 69

Brian Walden, managing director of B W Manufacturing (Plastics) Ltd of Grimsby, has died following a two-year illness at the age of 69. More red buses to go green in London

London's leaders are aiming to further slash emissions of the city's sizeable bus fleet, starting with a trial of ten hydrogen vehicles. The Vp group, owners of Climate Hire, report its operating profit has risen dramatically by 44% to 16.5m for the quarter ended March 31 2007. The £16.5m figure is up from £11.5m reported for 2006.
