Lazybase

Sharable databases. Anyone can create a database online and share it with others. Still, I get the sense that this will be a bit too geeky for most users.

dotSUB

by 1 other
Peer-produced subtitling. Users can subtitle a film in any language. It's a great idea, but the execution is lacking.

Pixsy

by 2 others
Ajax-powered image search. It's a well-designed service, but the only advantage seems to be the ajax functionality - something that other services could quickly add if they wished.

Glypho

by 2 others
Collaborative book writing. It's an interesting and worthwhile experiment, but I think this kind of coordination is extremely hard. Ultimately, I'm not sure that it will be successful.

PersonalWeb

Personalized homepage and downloadable application. The client tracks your web browsing behaviour and alters your homepage to better match your interests. This sounds like a hard sell - people are uneasy about being tracked, especially by a former adware company.

16bugs

by 13 others
Bug tracking made easy. Actually not a bad idea.

Birthday Forever

Personal site for arranging your birthday - manage wishlists, receive greetings, share your photos, make resolutions and create a newsletter. It remains to be seen whether this is a real pain point for the average consumer.

Clicktoscan

Scan documents with your cameraphone and send them by email or fax. If it works reliably, Clicktoscan will be a useful tool.

ePassportPhoto

Quickly create passport photos online.

Eponym

by 3 others
Hosted blogging tool. Fairly impressive.

Blogfinder.net

An experimental web 2.0 hub that connects influential early-opinion-leaders via a transparent, ajax-founded, tagging/detagging framework. (Parody.)

LittleWiki

Hosted wiki solution. Very simple. Lacks the intuitive interface and feature set of its rivals. Stikipad and Wetpaint are two more convincing efforts.

Yutter

by 4 others
Service for managing your feed subscribers and sending them updates via email. It seems like Feedburner already has this market sewn up.

Jajah

by 26 others
Low rate phone calls, activated via the web. You initiate a call on the Jajah site, then your landline will ring. Once you pick it up, it will begin connecting to the number you chose to dial. Interesting concept.

Alertbear

Downloadable RSS reader for Windows users with a unique interface. An interesting idea, although the RSS reader space is getting pretty crowded.

Wizlite

by 20 others
Collaborative page highlighting. Wizlite uses a Firefox extension (or a bookmarklet) to help you highlight text on a page and share it with others. An interesting tool for collaborative research.

SamePlace

by 3 others
Another Firefox extension that lets you chat about the web page you're on - similar to Chatsum.

Scooch

by 10 others
Slideshow creator and community. Not nearly as impressive as Slideroll, but it is only a working demo and more features are on the way.

Loki

by 6 others
Local search, navigation and sharing. Loki provides a Firefox/IE plugin that allows you to search within your local area, based on the location of the Wifi access point you are using. A very interesting idea, and definitely a sign of things to come.

Feed Sifter

by 5 others
Filter your feeds based on search terms. Feed Sifter is similar to Feed Rinse, but in this instance the aim is to find posts that contain particular words, rather than filtering out content you don't want. The service is fast and free.

Feed Rinse

by 19 others
Filter your feeds by keyword, author and tag or remove profanity. It's a simple idea, but the design and branding are particularly impressive. Prices range from free to $8/month for the premium version.

BloxPress

Modular ajax-powered Wordpress theme. BloxPress allows your users to rearrange your blog layout - it can also carry those preferences over to other blogs using the BloxPress theme. What's more, developers can create custom modules for other web services. Intriguing.

FormSpring

by 5 others
Another tool for creating online forms. Similar to JotForm, The Form Assembly and Wufoo. Not as impressive as its rivals.

Code Snippets

by 48 others
Public source code repository. Grab snippets of code, tag them, store them and share them with the world. Essentially social bookmarking for source code. This is actually a pretty good idea, and may save time for developers.

Flitic

by 1 other
Yet another way to manage, tag and find RSS, XML and ATOM feeds. Nice design, but I'm not seeing anything new here.
