EditGrid

Web-based spreadsheets, along the lines of NumSum, Numbler and iRows. Works well.

Sharkle.com

by 1 other
Another video-sharing community along the lines of YouTube, Vimeo, VSocial, Revver and Google Video. Standard features, and nothing truly new.

SwapThing

by 6 others
Swapping site, similar to Zunafish. Swap the things you have for the things you want. Although it's an interesting model, I still think eBay will remain the flea market of choice for most users.

Gnosh

Metasearch engine. Search the web, photos, news and more - all from one interface. Simple, but works well. Similar to Gada.be, Huckabuck, Keotag and Amazon's A9.

Email-based bookmarking. Hit a bookmarklet on your browser and a copy of the page is sent to your email address. Very useful for bookmarks you want to keep private. You might also want to set a filter in your email client so that incoming bookmarks are categorized automatically.

Feedwhip

by 10 others
Receive an email whenever your favorite sites are updated. Sites don't need to provide RSS feeds. A nice little tool.

Homper

by 2 others
Another personalized homepage along the lines of Netvibes and Protopage. Very basic.

eggkeg

by 2 others
Social bookmarking. Again. :)

Simplybill

Simple Web 2.0 invoicing service. The interface is attractive and easy to use, with plenty of ajax goodness. Prices range from free to $25 per month. A nice little app.

Mai'Nada Comics

by 2 others
Watch how others have drawn their comic book sketches and rate their work. You can also contribute your own drawings. Fun to play with.

PixPulse

Media sharing from your cellphone. Upload photos and videos and share them with your friends. A nice attempt, but it's hard to see how they'll distinguish themselves from the crowd.

Wetpaint

by 1 other
Wiki solution. Nicely designed with good usability. Still, it's a fairly crowded market - other players include LittleWiki, Wikispaces and the excellent StikiPad.

Zixxo

by 9 others
Create online coupons for your business. Zixxo will no doubt appeal to small business owners, although marketing will be the biggest challenge here, since that demographic isn't always tech savvy.

Priceheat

by 1 other
Amazon price checker. The Priceheat bookmarklet allows you to compare prices with one click. A simple tool, but once again this is a niche opportunity.

cl1p.net

An internet clipboard - copy and paste between multiple computers. It's a useful tool, but there may be some privacy concerns if you're copying sensitive data.

Webaroo

by 13 others
Use the web while you're disconnected. May be of use to some people, but ultimately it's hard to see a sustainable business model here.

FeedoStyle

Create widgets to syndicate your feed on other sites. Also includes the ability to customize the widget's design. Nice, simple tool. FeedDigest is a good alternative.

seconds11

by 4 others
Podcast sampling site. Hear 11 seconds of a podcast, and upload a clip from your own podcast for others to sample. Arty.

Huckabuck

by 7 others
Metasearch engine - search MSN, Yahoo and Google all at once, and weight your results using ajax sliders. A nice interface, but unlikely to have a huge impact.

://URLFAN

by 3 others
A service that searches for inbound links to blogs and ranks those blogs based on popularity. Also provides a service similar to TalkDigger, allowing you to track links to your own site or blog. To be honest, I think Technorati has this market wrapped up.

MySpace Editor

by 2 others
An editor for your MySpace page. One of many useful tools for MySpace users.

Karmus

by 2 others
Social site for charities. Create cards and share them with others. Well-intentioned.

Isolatr

by 12 others
Anti-social networking (parody). A similar idea to Snubster. The FAQ page is hilarious.

07 April 2006

Ajaxload

by 128 others
Generate ajax loading gifs for your web applications. A neat little service.

Questionize

by 2 others
Yet another question and answer service along the lines of Wondir and Yahoo Answers. Feels half-baked.
