Zend, symfony, and CakePHP cron task automation

A short few years ago, a common criticism about PHP was that it did not support MVC-style architectures. Today, developers can chose from many PHP frameworks. This article shows you how to integrate external tasks with PHP frameworks and create a simple task that can be called using a scheduler such as cron. You'll build the application in each framework, getting a sense for how Zend, symfony, and CakePHP handle automated tasks differently.

I often use the Zend Framework from within my Symfony applications and until recently, I’ve been using the sfZendPlugin to import and autoload the library. You’ll notice that this plugin has recently been axed leaving some people confused as to how to use the library in their projects.

Using PDT : Installation : Installing the Zend Debugger - PDTWiki

Zend Debugger is a full-featured php debugger engine, an interactive tool that helps you debug PHP scripts. It works with a production and/or development web server and allows you to debug your scripts locally or remotely, from an IDE or the console.
To get the debugger to work you need to install the debugger engine to run in the PHP interpreter (server part), and configure the debugger client to communicate with the engine.
