WebInject is a free tool for automated testing of web applications and web services. It can be used to test individual system components that have HTTP interfaces (JSP, ASP, CGI, PHP, AJAX, Servlets, HTML Forms, XML/SOAP Web Services, REST, etc), and can be used as a test harness to create a suite of [HTTP level] automated functional, acceptance, and regression tests. A test harness allows you to run many test cases and collect/report your results. WebInject offers real-time results display and may also be used for monitoring system response times. WebInject can be used as a complete test framework that is controlled by the WebInject User Interface (GUI). Optionally, it can be used as a standalone test runner (text/console application) which can be integrated and called from other test frameworks or applications.

Supervisor is a client/server system that allows its users to monitor and control a number of processes on UNIX-like operating systems. It shares some of the same goals of programs like launchd, daemontools, and runit. Unlike some of these programs, it is not meant to be run as a substitute for init as "process id 1". Instead it is meant to be used to control processes related to a project or a customer, and is meant to start like any other program at boot time.

Nagios est un outil de supervision libre, écrit par Ethan Galdstat. Après avoir participé à la traduction de la documentation de son ancêtre (Netsaint), j'ai continué à l'utiliser et à lui développer des extensions.

Cela fait près d’un an et demi que j’utilise le logiciel Cacti pour monitorer l’activité réseau. Aussi bien dans le cadre de mon activité professionnelle que pour mon usage personnel. Mais j’ai récement découvert une alternative sérieuse : Munin. Celui-ci présente de nombreux avantages par rapport à Cacti et mérite d’être plus connue.
