So to help out those who've had nightmarish merge experiences, or to ease the fears of those who have yet to delve into the mysterious world of subversion branches and merges, I have decided to share my thoughts on proper branching technique.

The idea then is to take the changes that are going on in our project's trunk and apply them to our branch.

Piston is a utility that eases vendor branch management. This is similar to svn:externals, except you have a local copy of the files, which you can modify at will. As long as the changes are mergeable, you should have no problems.
