MixTape.me | make and listen to mixtapes (music playlists)
Similar to Seeqpod, Mixtape.me "grabs music from around the web, notably from Seeqpod, and does a great job of letting you make and browse playlists in an environment reminiscent of desktop music players.
You don't need an account to create a Quick Playlist on mixtape.me. You can just start adding tracks from searches and other people's playlists. Registering an account lets you add (but not upload) mp3s and save your playlists. There are also a lot of extra touches, like grabbing song info, lyrics and album artwork automatically. You can also share your playlists easily, even with friends who aren't signed up with Mixtape.me." [downloadsquad]
just hear it | playable music search
"Similiar to Seeqpod and Songza, Just Hear It offers registered and unregistered users alike a seamless interface for song search and playlist creation, all from within the browser.
Just Hear It claims to be completely legal, following DMCA guidelines, and paying royalties to all of the major performing-rights organizations, like ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC. In the future, Just Hear It aims to negotiate licenses to share revenue with labels. Currently, much of the music actually seems to come from YouTubeYouTube reviewsYouTube reviews - much like another site we recently reviewed, StreamDrag." - Mashable

3VOOR12 - Luisterpaal - Full Album Streams
"This is a Dutch site, in Dutch, leaving me with next to no idea what is going on here--except that, clearly, this site at any given time hosts a bunch of cool album streams. It's all very legal and above board, as the Luisterpaal (which might or might not mean "listening pole") is part of something called the VPRO, which is a television and radio network in the Netherlands. As far as I can see you'll find streams here that you won't anywhere else, and they change with unrelenting regularity. Best of all, the people behind this have really eclectic--and excellent--taste. Highly recommended"

Yottamusic | R.I.P.
Yottamusic is (was) an amazingly useful and well thought out alternate UI for Rhapsody. At the end of 2007 Rhapsody pulled the plug on the API it used. Lets hope Yottamusic's innovative UI will be come back in something else as equally brilliant.
