Seashore is an open source image editor for Mac OS X's Cocoa framework. It features gradients, textures and anti-aliasing for both text and brush strokes. It supports multiple layers and alpha channel editing. It is based around the GIMP's technology and uses the same native file format. However, unlike the GIMP, Seashore only aims to serve the basic image editing needs of most computer users, not to provide a replacement for professional image editing products.

Colorization is a computer-assisted process of adding color to a monochrome image or movie. The process typically involves segmenting images into regions and tracking these regions across image sequences. Neither of these tasks can be performed reliably in practice; consequently, colorization requires considerable user intervention and remains a tedious, time-consuming, and expensive task.

Si tu es un professionnel, ou que tu recherches la qualité maximale pour tes photos, et que en plus tu veux le faire avec des logiciels libres, je te propose dans ce tutoriel d'utliser une chaîne de production (NdT: workflow) pour le traitement par zones qui te permettra de profiter de la profondeur de couleurs 16 bits avec Gimp, un des manques les plus sujets à polémiques que les photographes professionnels et experts reprochent aux dévelopeurs de Gimp. Si tu es prêt, prends une grande bouffée d'aire frais et prépare-toi parce que j'ai eu besoin de plus de trente images et un gros pavé pour expliquer tout ça.

Quand on cherche à détourer un objet dans une image, on passe souvent par un outil qui demande beaucoup de temps. Or il y a beaucoup d'images qui ne nécessitent pas une prise de tête d'une heure. On va voir comment détourer un objet dans une photo sans se compliquer la vie avec GIMP-2.2.
