The fashion magazine has optimized MarieClaire.com for the iPad, giving it a Flipboard-like look that’s designed for the tablet. Marie Claire created the site using technology company Onswipe, which expects to roll it out to other devices as well.

» Whats Poppington: Isabeli Fontana pays homage to Linda Evangelista Vogue Italia 1989 Cubana Editorial
by sbrothierSo if Vogue Paris going in on a directional change? or are they just giving props to the legends that created this thing called “superfashion”? Apparently this has been the question on everyones pouted lips since Emmanuelle Alt replaced Carine Roitfeld as the editor and chief of the print media title.
Vogue Paris copying old photo shoots? > Fashion Photo Shoots
by sbrothierSo the Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott-photographed shoot isn't exactly original. Thus there are two questions raised: first, is the photo shoot, none the less, any good? And secondly, does the lack of outright originality matter?
Tough Talk On Emmanuelle Alt, Vogue Paris, Recycled Creativity, & Robo Websites - 2 Anne Enke's Sensuality Blog - AnneofCarversville.com
by sbrothierI may have been the first fashion and style writer to call out big concerns about Emmanuelle Alt’s visionary capacity to lead Vogue Paris, but I’m no longer alone.
It’s fine for Alt to lead the magazine in a new direction, but creative, captivating originality and freshness must rule. Carine Roitfeld is a tough act to follow. If she goes into the magazine business as rumoured, let Vogue Paris pray it’s only a semi-annual or quarterly.

eye | feature : Fashion’s obsessions are mirrored in its typography, From Vogue’s femme serifs to butch Chanel and the hybrid YSL logo
by sbrothierAs late as 1955, Vogue covers vacillated between serif and sans serif typefaces, as well as script faces and illustrative, photographic letters. It was after 1955 that the magazine appears to have legislated a consistent use of the all-capitals banner headline set in Didone lettering. Apart from minor details, it has remained absolutely fixed since then, the trade-dress of a powerful international franchise.
Frieze Magazine | Archive | New Faces
by sbrothier (via)It only takes a glance at the cover of any recent Paris Vogue to see that something odd is afoot. There’s the hair for a start. Veering between the lank and the bushy, it never quite achieves the luxuriant waves that are the norm. All around are quirky touches: idiosyncratic typefaces, hand-drawn motifs and even collage. This may not sound like much, but in the context of fashion magazines Paris Vogue is doing more than bucking a trend; it is attempting to shrug off a genre.
Interview Magazine First Mag for Ipad | TrendLand -> Fashion Blog & Trend Magazine
by sbrothierLast month CondeNast announced iPad versions of 5 of their titles were being prepped,(not for Vogue and W yet!) . Interview, however, is taking the plunge. Back in February, a video demo of their iPad app ( see below) , showing the photography and text of the magazine intermixed with video and audio content.

Vice Magazine
by sbrothier & 3 othersLe magazine VICE est publié depuis octobre 1994.
