TIOBE Software fournit des statistiques sur l'évolution des langages informatique. Java, C, C++, Perl sont récessifs là où Php, C#, Python, Ruby sont expansifs ! Vb reste étonnamment stable du fait qu'il est encore utilisé au niveau .Net !

Gearman provides a generic application framework to farm out work to other machines or processes that are better suited to do the work. It allows you to do work in parallel, to load balance processing, and to call functions between languages. It can be used in a variety of applications, from high-availability web sites to the transport of database replication events. In other words, it is the nervous system for how distributed processing communicates.
One type of asynchronous and worker solution I could use in the implementation of asynchronousity in Symfony's media plugin

Gearman C Server and Library in Launchpad

This is a rewrite (in C) of the Perl version found at http://danga.com/gearman/. It includes the both a client/worker library, as well as the server. The server acts as a bridge between workers (clients who can do work) and callers (clients who want work done). You should run several servers (at least two) for both load balancing and high availability.
