Creaceed - Hydra

by rmaltete & 1 other
Hydra is about mixing a number of under- and overexposed shots to get a natural sight of a scene. It provides human eye-like perception to your photographs by allowing you to create high dynamic range (HDR) images from a series of regular photographs, either from DSLRs or traditional point-and-shoot cameras. Want to see some HDR examples made with Hydra? Have a look at this page.

Enfuse - PanoTools.org Wiki

by rmaltete & 1 other (via)
Enfuse is a command-line program used to merge different exposures of the same scene to produce an image that looks very much like a tonemapped image (without the halos) but requires no creation of an HDR image. Therefore it is much simpler to use and allows the creation of very large multiple exposure panoramas. Enfuse is based on a paper by Tom Mertens, Jan Kautz and Frank Van Reeth: "Exposure fusion" The implementation was done by Andrew Mihal (developer of Enblend) and the hugin team around Pablo d'Angelo

Our eyes are very adaptive and they are also more sensitive to intensity than color. It is estimated that our eye can see over a dynamic range of nearly 24 f-stops while a digital camera can capture a dynamic range around 6 to 9 f-stops.
