当初予定より１年遅れの今年１０月末開業を目標に工事が進む台湾高速鉄道（台湾新幹線）は、台北―高雄間３４５キロの全線開通が来年初めにずれ込み、当初は台北駅から約７キロ南にある板橋駅（台北県）からの発着となる見通しとなった。台北―板橋の地下区間の電気工事が遅れているためだ。運転士も養成が遅れ気味で当初はフランス人の経験者らに頼るなど、再度の開業延期を避けるために駆け込み開業になりそうだ。

日本が世界に誇る新幹線技術の「初輸出」となった台湾高速鉄道（台湾新幹線）の試験走行が、予定より３カ月遅れて２７日、台湾南部で始まった。当初、欧州連合が受注し、途中で日本のシステムが逆転する形で採用された「日欧混在システム」。意思疎通の難しさもあって「１０月開業」を目指す工事は遅れ、安全性の面で懸念の声も出ているが、中国大陸やアジアへの新幹線輸出に向けた「試金石」として日本側の期待は大きい。（台北＝永持裕紀、後藤絵里）

総務省 は13日、2006年3月末現在の Blog 及び SNS 登録者数を集計、結果を発表した。 集計によると、2006年3月末現在、Blog 登録者数は868万、SNS 登録者数は716万人だった。集計対象となったサービス及び事業者は、Blog 53社 、SNS 21社 。これらのサービスの登録者数を単純合計している。 なお集計対象事業者は異なるが、 2005年9月末時点 での Blog 登録者数は473万、SNS 登録者数は399万。わずか半年で Blog 登録者は1.83倍に、SNS 登録者は1.79倍に増加したことになる。 ビデオリサーチインタラクティブも同日、Blog 訪問者の増加傾向を示す調査結果を 発表 している。
