Java Documentation (for os x)

Java support in Mac OS X is built around the foundation of the Java 2, Standard Edition implementation, which is installed with every copy of Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server. Mac OS X Server provides additional resources through JBoss and WebObjects. Java developers can easily distribute their cross-platform J2SE applications as native Mac OS X applications, or they can take advantage of Mac OS X-specific Java versions of some Cocoa APIs.

Cayenne: Overview

by 2 others
Cayenne is a powerful, full-featured Java Object Relational Mapping framework. It is open source and completely free. One of the main Cayenne distinctions is that it comes with cross-modeling GUI tools. This places Cayenne in the league of its own, making it a very choice over both closed source commercial products and traditional "edit your own XML" source solutions.

Ganymed SSH2 for Java

Ganymed SSH2 for Java is a library which implements the SSH2 protocol in pure Java (tested on J2SE 1.4.2 and 5.0). It allows one to connect to SSH servers from within Java programs. It supports SSH sessions (remote command execution and shell access), local port forwarding, local stream forwarding, and SCP. There are no dependencies on any JCE provider, as all crypto functionality is included.

Security and the Java Platform

Underlying the Java platform is a dynamic, extensible security architecture, standards-based and interoperable. Security features -- cryptography, authentication and authorization, public key infrastructure, and more -- are built in. The Java security model is based on a customizable "sandbox" in which Java software programs can run safely, without potential risk to systems or users.
