Inspiration: 100+ years of Architectural progress that occurred in Chicago since the great fire of 1871 that have consequently surrounds us in today's Architecture. Ever since I can remember, I have always been fascinated by the iconic Chicago Skyline. This later inspired me to explore Architecture in hopes of one day becoming an Architect. My only time away from that inspiring Chicago Skyline was during my college years when I received my Professional Degree in Architecture with an emphasis on the Philosophy of Design Theory at Kansas State University in 1996.

Setting Up Affiliate Links - Babeland

Claire Cavanah and Rachel Venning opened the first Babeland store in 1993 in response to the lack of women-friendly sex shops in Seattle. The store offered top quality products, a pleasant place to shop, and most of all information and encouragement to women who wanted to explore their sexuality. The store's popularity with both women and men eventually led to two more stores in New York and one in Los Angeles, as well as a thriving website.

Jack and Beverly's Thaumatropes

The thaumatrope is among the simplest of the "persistence of vision" toys that were introduced in the early 19th century. In its basic form it is a card with a different picture on each surface and string attached to each side. When the string is wound up then released the card spins rapidly merging the two pictures together. Less common were examples like the mechanical toy below where two images of different phases of a movement caused the image to move.

Thoughts About Photography: Updated 35mm Lego Camera Design

Inspired by George Bristol’s variation on the film advance mechanism of my Lego camera, I have reworked the design of my 35mm Lego camera. The new camera has several things going for it. Overall it is slightly smaller. It now has an internal shutter mechanism which replaces the clumsy swinging door of the earlier model. Most importantly, I came up with a simple way to rewind the film so now the camera no longer needs to be unloaded in the dark. I have tested a couple of rolls of film with it and the improvements make this a very fun little toy! I am seriously starting to consider selling these, perhaps on Ebay. Would anybody be interested? What do you think it would be worth?

One thing that really caught my eye this past weekend was the PUNCH'N'CUDDLE. It comes in two sizes : big and small. It's a cross between a bean bag and punching bag. The look is really nice and the concept is even better. Watch the video below to get the full picture!

Thankfully our good friends in Japan have created Unazukins - impossibly cute little collectable dolls that help you make decisions by responding to your questions with a nod or shake of the head.

JBOOK: [kokuyotoipogurahui]

It is the strange vision unrestricted building block where as for “[toipogurahui]”, when the part is rearranged, the English word becomes Chinese character of the same meaning, becomes the picture. While rearranging small and large various parts, playing pleasantly, it can cultivate the creativity of the children by experiencing the work of producing new shape. The material uses the Buna material where the Hokkaido product is selected, has become the completion where you can feel feeling good quality in material feeling such as touch. Not only the child way, also the adult moves the hand personally, by the fact that you think, everyone and others creativity (the flash) can forge pleasantly.

The Rules of Toys : Twitter

Designing with the toy rules is not a solution for all design problems. You might want to employ the toy rules when it's important that your users not only focus on part of your interface, but it's also important that they remember it. Giving your users a toy, an interface that is going to invite them to play, is also going to invite them to explore, and when they're exploring, they're learning.
