The Perfect Server - Debian Lenny (Debian 5.0) With BIND & Dovecot [ISPConfig 3] | HowtoForge - Linux Howtos and Tutorials

(via)
This tutorial shows how to prepare a Debian Lenny (Debian 5.0) server for the installation of ISPConfig 3, and how to install ISPConfig 3. ISPConfig 3 is a webhosting control panel that allows you to configure the following services through a web browser: Apache web server, Postfix mail server, MySQL, BIND nameserver, PureFTPd, SpamAssassin, ClamAV, and many more. This tutorials differs from "The Perfect Server - Debian Lenny (Debian 5.0) With MyDNS & Courier [ISPConfig 3]" in that I use BIND and Dovecot here instead of MyDNS and Courier (of course, the other two variants - BIND & Courier or MyDNS & Dovecot are possible as well).

Installing PowerDNS (With MySQL Backend) And Poweradmin On Debian Lenny | HowtoForge - Linux Howtos and Tutorials

(via)
This article shows how you can install the PowerDNS nameserver (with MySQL backend) and the Poweradmin control panel for PowerDNS on a Debian Lenny system. PowerDNS is a high-performance, authoritative-only nameserver - in the setup described here it will read the DNS records from a MySQL database (similar to MyDNS), although other backends such as PostgreSQL are supported as well. Virtual Hosting With PureFTPd And MySQL (Incl. Quota And Bandwidth Management) On Debian Lenny | HowtoForge - Linux Howtos and Tutorials

This is much more performant and allows to have thousands of ftp users on a single machine. In addition to that I will show the use of quota and upload/download bandwidth limits with this setup. Passwords will be stored encrypted as MD5 strings in the database.

Virtual Users And Domains With Postfix, Courier, MySQL And SquirrelMail (Debian Lenny) | HowtoForge - Linux Howtos and Tutorials

(via)
This document describes how to install a Postfix mail server that is based on virtual users and domains, i.e. users and domains that are in a MySQL database. I'll also demonstrate the installation and configuration of Courier (Courier-POP3, Courier-IMAP), so that Courier can authenticate against the same MySQL database Postfix uses. The resulting Postfix server is capable of SMTP-AUTH and TLS and quota. Passwords are stored in encrypted form in the database. In addition to that, this tutorial covers the installation of Amavisd, SpamAssassin and ClamAV. I will also show how to install SquirrelMail as a webmail interface so that users can read and send emails and change their passwords.
