Vator.TV - index

Vator.TV is a place where entrepreneurs can share their ideas with the rest of the world through video. We provide a platform for innovators in all fields of industry and from around the world to be showcased, benefiting from the opportunity to reach others that might contribute to their success. The people behind any company are the main reasons why a company succeeds, fails, or receives funding. The video elevator pitch enables people to introduce themselves and their team in a personal way and to reach a worldwide audience. The video pitch is also a more powerful means for entrepreneurs to demonstrate their business which can often be based on abstract concepts. We hope that the personal stories behind the ideas will not only entertain the audience but also encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to take that leap of faith. We also invite entrepreneurs to share stories about their previous business ventures or provide updates about new developments, partnerships, services or products of their companies. Our viewer rating system allows users to receive feedback on their own ideas as well as to provide feedback to others. Even if you're not sharing your pitches we welcome your industry expertise (in video or text), votes and comments about a company's prospects.

TheFunded.com: The Resource for Entrepreneurs.

As a serial entrepreneur, I have come to realize over the years how important fundraising is and how difficult it can be. First, fundraising is far too time consuming for the entrepreneur, wasting valuable time required to grow the business. Second, the fundraising process is often like speed dating with a long-term relationship at the end where you split the proceeds. Everyone puts their best face on, and it is only when the deal is done do you get to see the real value, if any. I have personally been burned, and so have many of my friends. So, I set out a guide to help entrepreneurs find the perfect funding source for their business. Imagine if you had a comprehensive database of funding sources with practical insights from entrepreneurs who have dealt with the funds... * Search for any fund in the world by name, and the list on the left dynamically updates, showing the top rated funds first. * Browse for funds by "region" and "funding level" above, and the list of left will save your selection, allowing you to browse with next and previous links. * View fund reviews, commentary, facts, and investor contact information by clicking on the fund name. * RSS feeds of the most recent public comments from members is available to keep you up-to-date with funding source news. * Membership is reserved for entrepreneurs by invitation only. Want a membership? Members must log-in for these benefits: * Edit and Add funds and partners by clicking the respective links, but please make sure to include accurate information. * Review any fund on a 1-5 scale across five performance criteria to create an overall average fund rating. * Comment on both fund and partner performance with both public and private recommendations, and access the private commentary of others. * Agree and Disagree instantly with the comments by just clicking on the feedback links. * Invite other entrepreneurs to the community by clicking on the Invite Members link next to your login name above. Funding Level Key: * Very Small = $0.0 to $.5 MM investments * Small = $0.5 to $1.0 MM investments * Medium = $1.0 to $5.0 MM investments * Large = $5.0 to $15.0 MM investments * Very Large = $15.0 + MM investments

Y Combinator

by 7 others (via)
Y Combinator is a new kind of venture firm specializing in funding early stage startups. We help startups through what is for many the hardest step, from idea to company. We invest mostly in software and web services. And because we are ourselves technology people, we prefer groups with a lot of technical depth. We care more about how smart you are than how old you are, and more about the quality of your ideas than whether you have a formal business plan.

Charles River Ventures - about CRV - CRV QuickStart

(via)
Launch your ideas more quickly and efficiently Behind every great company is an entrepreneur with a great idea. Yet getting a big idea off the ground takes more than just innovative thinking. Time, resources and capital are also required. All too often, the process of raising seed capital can consume precious time that can be better spent actually building out your idea. Often, that capital can also come at a high price in the form of painful dilution which translates into the founders getting less than their fair share. CRV has created an innovative program to eliminate these issues and help entrepreneurs get up and running quickly - the CRV QuickStart Seed Funding Program. CRV QuickStart provides select entrepreneurs with a loan to fund the work needed to build out your idea, enabling you to explore its potential in its earliest stage before you raise a round of formal equity financing. By offering up to $250,000 in the form of a loan (also referred to as a “convertible note”), we’re providing you with the capital to fuel your ideas without equity dilution. As a non-equity financing, no public filing is required. As a result, entrepreneurs can stay in stealth mode during their seed phase, which is often an important competitive advantage.
