Viewport Sizes

I'm trying to gather information on as many devices I can, to see what viewports are out there in the wild. I want to use this to help with responsive design & mobile web apps — not to target specific device widths, but to raise awareness of the diversity and to perhaps help you ‘optimize’ for widths that are in use, if necessary.

jQuery.fracs determines some fractions for an HTML element (visible fraction, fraction of the viewport, ...) and also provides the coordinates of these areas. As a bonus there is a page outline feature as seen on the right.

Jeremy first raised his concern (about iPhone viewport scaling) and later by Andreas. My early view was stated here. Since this issue was raised, I have been trying to find ways to work around this problem. Below is a proof of concept of how to preserve the accessibility (scaling) without affecting the usability for the majority.
