Salutations, devant la difficulté de certains à utiliser leur précieux en "mode modem" j'ai décidé de regrouper les tutos que j'ai pu trouver sur le web pour en faire un plus compact. Je rapelle que nous utilisons l'iphone comme un proxy et non véritablement comme un modem et que de ce fait c'est sensé ne pas etre détecté, après je suis pas assez callé en informatique désolé^^. Quand un site web dynamique commence à avoir un trafic important, généralement on va essayer de multiplier les serveurs web qui hébergent les fichiers. Multiplier les serveurs web n’est pas le plus difficile, il suffit de faire une réplication des données à chaque mise à jour de votre site et de multiplier les sous-domaines. Les choses se compliquent lorsque vous souhaitez avoir plusieurs serveurs de base de données. La base de données que nous étudierons ici est MySQL. Nous ne parlerons pas de cluster MySQL dans cet article. Le but de l’article est de montrer comment séparer un serveur MySQL en trois serveurs distincts : 1 maitre et deux esclaves, avec un seul point d’entrée (le proxy MySQL). The Pound program is a reverse proxy, load balancer and HTTPS front-end for Web server(s). Pound was developed to enable distributing the load among several Web-servers and to allow for a convenient SSL wrapper for those Web servers that do not offer it natively. Pound is distributed under the GPL - no warranty, it's free to use, copy and give away. WHAT POUND IS: 1. a reverse-proxy: it passes requests from client browsers to one or more back-end servers. 2. a load balancer: it will distribute the requests from the client browsers among several back-end servers, while keeping session information. 3. an SSL wrapper: Pound will decrypt HTTPS requests from client browsers and pass them as plain HTTP to the back-end servers. 4. an HTTP/HTTPS sanitizer: Pound will verify requests for correctness and accept only well-formed ones. 5. a fail over-server: should a back-end server fail, Pound will take note of the fact and stop passing requests to it until it recovers. 6. a request redirector: requests may be distributed among servers according to the requested URL. Pound is a very small program, easily audited for security problems. It can run as setuid/setgid and/or in a chroot jail. Pound does not access the hard-disk at all (except for reading the certificate file on start, if required) and should thus pose no security threat to any machine.

Que ce soit à la maison ou au travail, quand on commence à avoir beaucoup de machines Debian, se pose le problème de leurs mises à jour et surtout de la bande passante utilisée pour celles-ci. Au niveau Debian, plusieurs solutions existent, comme utiliser un proxy web classique (Squid par exemple), partager le répertoire contenant les fichiers téléchargés (ce qui peut être un peu risqué), répliquer complètement l'arborescence Debian (mais ça demande à télécharger des paquets dont probablement on ne se servira jamais) ou bien encore utiliser un outil dédié à ce problème. Plusieurs existent : apt-proxy, approx, apt-cacher. Il semble que de ces différentes solutions aucune ne ressorte vraiment, et que des problèmes existent sur chacune d'elle. En tout cas, ici, je vais vous présenter apt-cacher.
