The last time I wrote about icon design, I explained why it’s necessary to produce variations of an icon at different sizes. At small sizes in particular it’s important for icons to respect the pixel grid, enough so that extra work modifying the basic icon outline is usually required.

IconTown is not just another website offering icons for download - it's an international project, inviting everyone capable of creating icons to become a member (citizen) and take part in building a town by contributing an icon. an old old link (1996).... still cool !

This is a little and humble, but promising town for those who love the pixel art. There are some shops with a everyday-increasing collection for free icon distribution. Have fun walking around here, using any Operating System you want.
