Concrete Hermit

by 4 others, 2 comments
“Punk is an attitude not an aesthetic” Since 2004 Concrete Hermit has worked with selected artists, building its reputation by producing a range of graphically lead products including books, T-shirts and badges. We decided to create a platform that promoted interesting work fairly and with respect for both the artist and the buyer. We enjoy working with diverse groups of people to produce good, interesting, unusual stuff. We try not to be lead by fashions or markets, although we are making products for consumers - we’re putting creations out there to be consumed. We’re no longer sure what real is but we’ll do our best to keep it real - We are post-neo-old-skool.

Graffiti Research Lab » Night Writer

by 1 other
The night writer extends the functionality of LED throwies by allowing a writer to catch a tag in lights. It’s cheap, easy to make and writes 12-inch glowing letters 25-feet in the air on any iron or steel surface…if you stand on a turned over garbage can.

wowlab - the study of new expression

The print revolution had changed the whole world completely. After that, 500 years. We are in the middle of the new conversion of IT innovation. The distance has started losing the meaning in economy, and the market in the world already united. Thinking of "conveying information by the image" from our view point of original thought and techniques, we relate it to our expression. Therefore, we need to exceed the fields, not just thinking and doing the same things at the same place.

It seems to me that you always have to come back to being simple, essential and topical." That this has resulted in so many influential approaches is a tribute, not to what Paul Davis calls his wanderlust but to an unending aesthetic journey to find truth, discover form, develop ideas, and create distinctive art.

KHRONOS PROJECTOR - Alvaro Cassinelli

by 4 others (via)
The Khronos Projector is an interactive-art installation allowing people to explore pre-recorded movie content in an entirely new way. A classic video-tape allows a simple control of the reproducing process (stop, backward, forward, and elementary control on the reproduction speed). Modern digital players add little more than the possibility to perform random temporal jumps between image frames.
