Meet AirDog, An Action Sports Drone For Your GoPro Camera | TechCrunch

The problem Latvian startup Helico Aerospace Industries has set out to solve is most homemade action sports videos rely on a camera, such as the GoPro, being strapped on your person or action sports equipment, providing mostly a POV shot only. Researchers Develop Method for Getting High-Quality Photos from Crappy Lenses

There are many reason high-quality lenses cost as much as they do (and in some cases that is quite a lot), and one of them is that high-end lenses use many specially-designed elements that are perfectly-positioned to counteract aberrations and distortions.

Lytro changed photography. Now can it get anyone to care? | The Verge

Lytro's ultimate, simplest goal is to turn the physical parts of the camera — the lens, the aperture, the shutter — into software. If it can do that, the camera hardware itself becomes secondary; it would take nothing more than a cheap lens and a sensor to build a light-field camera.

Airport Security Staff are Going to Hate Wearable Cameras

What follows is the story of my brush with Homeland Security today while entering the United States a few hours ago. It was all my fault, but I get the feeling I was an early example of something that staff in airports around the world will have to deal with regularly as wearable data collection devices become more common…

How To Tether Your Camera To An Ipad Without Jailbreaking | Fstoppers

Last year I released a video explaining how to wirelessly tether your camera to an iPad by jailbreaking the iPad. Since then Eye-Fi has released a firmware update that makes wireless tethering possible without the need for jailbreaking. Now, not only is the whole process much easier to set up, it is also much cheaper because you no longer have to pay for the more expensive Pro Eye-Fi card, you can make this work with the cheaper Connect X2 card.

Canon Cinema EOS

by 1 other
Built from the ground up for the serious filmmaker. Every detail, from sensor design to lens mount to I/O and codec is inspired by and created for the industry. We interviewed hundreds of people in the business to truly understand their wants and needs. They spoke; we listened. The result - the Canon Cinema EOS system. Leveraging decades of Canon experience delivering imaging technology and services, Cinema EOS is more than the sum of its parts - camera body, lenses, service and support; it's a definitive HD motion picture system, conceived as an extension of the cinematographer. And this is just the beginning. Expect many more announcements in the months to come - all part of Canon's commitment to provide professionals with the tools and support they need to tell their stories.

My Gear Main Page « Vincent Laforet's Blog

The following is a catalogue of the different pieces of gear I have been using in my kit – some for years and some only more recently. I have included the items I currently use and love most, and just like my kit, expect this list to be ever evolving. There will be new additions to the list over time, and I will continue to populate it with examples and behind the scenes footage of the gear in action.
