Using prototype.js v1.4.0

by 55 others (via)
n case you haven't already used it, prototype.js is a JavaScript library written by Sam Stephenson. This amazingly well thought and well written piece of standards-compliant code takes a lot of the burden associated with creating rich, highly interactive web pages that characterize the Web 2.0 off your back. If you tried to use this library recently, you probably noticed that documentation is not one of its strongest points. As many other developers before me, I got my head around prototype.js by reading the source code and experimenting with it. I thought it would be nice to take notes while I learned and share with everybody else. I'm also offering an un-official reference for the objects, classes, functions, and extensions provided by this library.

9 JavaScript Tips You May Not Know | Ayman Hourieh's Blog

avaScript is a fully-featured Object-Oriented programming language, on the surface, it shares syntactical similarities with Java and C, but the mentality is quite different, at its core, JavaScript is more similar to functional languages. Inside is a list of JavaScript tips, some offer techniques to simulate features found in C-like languages (such as assertions or static variables), others are meant to improve performance and explore some of the more obscure parts of the web scripting language.

Note that this script by default doesn't perform any action other than animating the progress bar. It's up to you to create helper functions to accomplish any relevant tasks.

gotAPI.com :: Reference Lookup Service

by 48 others (via)

JS/UIX - Terminal

by 7 others
JS/UIX is an UN*X-like OS for standard web-browsers, written entirely in JavaScript (no plug-ins used). It comprises a vir- tual machine, shell, virtual file-system, process-management, and brings its own terminal with screen- and keyboard-mapping. For an overview of implemented commands have a look at the complete > JS/UIX-Manual-Pages; see also the > Version-History. The keyboard accepts the US-ASCII character set. As key-mapping depends from your browser, you may have to use the cursor and backspace buttons at the lower right of the terminal. A complete keyboard can be accessed at the lower left.
