Fewer and fewer people these days read short stories. This is unfortunate--so few will ever experience the joy that reading such fine work can give. The goal of this site is to give a nice cross section of short stories in the hope that these short stories will excite these people into rediscovering this excellent source of entertainment.

Using the three languages of the fur trade in the Great Lakes area, we welcome you to the White Oak Learning Centre. We present to you a period of time from the late 1600's to the mid-1800's. These were the years when the North American fur trade grew. The people in Europe wanted beaver skins to make hats and other furs for clothing. European companies traded goods such as cloth, hatchets, kettles, beads, needles and guns for furs provided by Native Americans.

Middle School Math Technology Resources and Ideas

Middle School Math Portal
Site for teachers to use to develop math skills. Has background info, teacher-directed activities, and interactive online activities. Click on the + for each folder for a Math topic on the right side to drill down to the specific subtopic. When there are no more + folders, click on the folder itself to see the resources. Great for busy teachers as each topic has a short list of relevant and high quality links/activities.
