Le quotidien de l'intégrateur web est rempli d'embuches, et 75% d'entre elles sont la faute d'un seul et unique navigateur, je parle évidement de notre ennemi Internet Explorer 6 !
Mais étant donné que Microsoft à imposer ce navigateur de façon écrasante pendant 6 ans, maintenant on doit vivre avec et nous adapter pour pas que nos sites partent en couilles lorsqu'il le croise !
Heureusement Microsoft s'est sorti les doigt du c*l lorsque Firefox débarqua dans le monde des navigateurs. Nous voilà donc avec un Internet Explorer 7 et un Internet Explorer 8 (en béta), ce qui est un grand pas en avant. Mais le soucis c'est que si l'on dispose d'un système d'exploitation récent (Vista ?) , on se retrouve d'office avec la version 7, et comme Microsoft empêche l'installation multiple de son navigateur, nous voilà bien emmerder pour tester nos sites !
Une solution est apparue il y a quelques mois, il s'agit de Multiple IE . Donc ce logiciel installe les versions d'internet Explorer de la 3ème à la 6ème. Parfait … sauf qu'il est très compliqué de l'installer sur Vista, et que personnellement j'ai pas mal de soucis d'affichage (éléments figés …). Et c'est là que IETester apporte une nouvelle alternative encore plus efficace !

Microsoft Corp. has warned corporate administrators that it will push a new version of Internet Explorer 7 their way next month, and it has posted guidelines on how to ward off the automatic update if admins want to keep the older IE6 browser on their companies' machines.
