jDucastel

red.house
by sbrothier:: a swedish designer in america...hoping to bring you everything inspirational in design from both sides of the atlantic. red.house is home to me, like every house in Sweden, painted red with white trims. The red pigment was a bi-product of the mining industry in Sweden. They turned it into paint and called it Falu Rödfärg. It was the cheapest and most accesible paint. This all happened a long time ago but the majority of the houses in the Swedish country side are still painted red. Nothing says home to me like a red house ::

EcoGeek - Home
by sbrothierTechnology can be a force for evil, or for awesome. Those who shun the tech are just as guilty as those who ignore the environment. There's a safe balance, where the awesome can help nature as much as it helps us have a good time and live easier lives. EcoGeek devotes its pages to exploring the symbiosis between nature and technology. If you're interested in that, then stop by, and stop by often.

graphpaper.com - Microsoft Word’s Useless Buttons
by sbrothierIt’s not bragging (in fact, it’s probably a little embarassing) for me to say that I am an expert user of Microsoft Word. I can do just about anything I want with it, and I understand most of Word’s idiosyncracies and tricks. Still, the UI has always seemed to get in my way. For example, there are a ton of buttons I never use — so for kicks I decided to see just how many.
