Viewport Sized Typography | CSS-Tricks

CSS3 has some new values for sizing things relative to the current viewport size: vw, vh, and vmin. It is relevant to bring up now, because it's shipping in Chrome 20 (canary at the time of this writing). And not behind a flag, it just works. Production usage isn't quite there, but it will be soon enough.

The way we (authors) use vendor prefixes may not be as the CSSWG intended, but it is now a reality. We’re more than prepared to use vendor prefixes as more than experiments and accept the consequences of using pre-release CSS properties.

Adactio: Journal—Conditional CSS

Just to recap, I was looking for a way of detecting from JavaScript whether media queries have been executed in CSS without duplicating my breakpoints. That bit is important: I’m not looking for MatchMedia, which involves making media queries in JavaScript. Instead I’m looking for some otherwise-useless CSS property that I can use to pass information to JavaScript.
