ceux qui pensent qu’il est complexe de créer un moteur de recherche limité à 300 sites web, et qui pensent que j’ai fait preuve d’un dévouement sans borne en y consacrant mes 10 dernières nuits, je dédicace cette vidéo de 2′26” : 1. je récupère sur Bibliopedia la liste des URL 2. je la colle sous Word 3. je supprime tout ce qui est en noir (donc tout ce qui n’est pas une URL) : chercher ce qui est noir et le remplacer par un saut de ligne (ensuite je supprime les doubles sauts de ligne en les remplaçant par un seul saut) 4. je colle la liste obtenue dans un moteur Google CSE (Custom Search Engine). Bref, j’ai passé moins de temps à créer le moteur en question qu’à rédiger le billet qui le présentait…

If you, like me, visit Firefox forums or similar regularly, maybe you also often see people only posting the url of an add-on not saying which one it is. This script queries the AMO API for every link to an add-on it finds and replaces the url in the link text with the add-on’s name.

However like dark matter, dark users are observable due to their effects on the rest of the universe. If a dark user comments on a stream entry, I can see that comment. More importantly, I can see their user-ID, and I can generate a URL to a page that will contain their name. I can then watch for their activities elsewhere. Granted, I can't directly search for their activity, but I can observe their effects on my friends. For want of a better term, I've been calling this "dark stalking".

Again, for naughty guys and gals who use WordPress as a CMS, this plugin allows you to define a custom URL via a custom field on any page. Any time a user tries to access that page, it sends them to your custom URL. This plugin is ideal for adding external links to your navigation menu without adding code. Just make a new page, enter a key => value of redirect => URL and save the page. Voila! you now have a new navigation menu item that points at your external URL. Magic!

The WP-Cycle plugin allows you to upload images from your computer, which will then be used to generate a jQuery Cycle Plugin slideshow of the images.
Each image can also be given a URL which, when the image is active in the slideshow, will be used as an anchor wrapper around the image, turning the image into a link to the URL you specified. The slideshow is set to pause when the user hovers over the slideshow images, giving them ample time to click the link.
Images can also be deleted via the plugins Administration page.

How to Design a Tumblelog Theme for WordPress | Digging into WordPress

Tumblelogs are a great way to streamline mixed-media blogging for different types of content. Commonly used tumblelog topics include “Links”, “Photos”, “Quotes”, “Dialogue”, and “Video”. A good tumblelog presents each these different topics with its own unique format while retaining an overall sense of cohesion throughout the entire design.
A good example of this involves the clever way in which titles for “Link-category” posts link to the showcase URL rather than to the post itself. Other post types may be styled with different colors, meta information, and anything else that seems appropriate. Bottom line is that a well-designed tumblelog makes it easy and fun to showcase and organize a wide variety of different content types all in one place.
Although I prefer to tumble via my Tumblr account, I have always wanted to integrate the process into WordPress by designing a tumblelog-style theme. So in this brisk tutorial, that’s exactly what we’re going to do.
The goals of our Tumble Theme are as follows:
Create categories for each content type: Links, Photos, Quotes, Dialogue, and Video
Create unique category, single, and index views for each content type
Make post title links for the Link category point to the showcase URL instead of the post itself
Also provide a link to the post itself (i.e., single view) for posts in the Link category

his plugin allows you to make a WordPress page or post link to a URL of your choosing, instead of its WordPress page or post URL. It also will redirect people who go to the old (or "normal") URL to the new one you've chosen (301 Moved Permanently redirects are standard, but you can choose a 302 Moved Temporarily redirect if you wish).
This functionality is useful for setting up navigational links to non-WordPress sections of your site or to off-site resources.
You can also use it to create a hand-crafted menu that links to pages, posts, categories, or anything within your site.

YubNub is a command-line for the web. After setting it up on your browser, you simply type "gim porsche 911" to do a Google Image Search for pictures of Porsche 911 sports cars. Type "random 49" to return random numbers between 1 and 49, courtesy of random.org. And best of all, you can make a new command by giving YubNub an appropriate URL.
