Théatre : Jackpot le Jeu - Assister au jeu

by canette

365 Days Of Trash: Frequently Asked Questions

by xibe

this was an idea that a friend and I came up with (although it is hardly a unique one) that I really wanted to try. We were talking about the idea of throwing things "away" and how "away" is just that, somewhere other than here. It occurred to us that it is easy to waste because we are not confronted with that waste since it goes "away" and then began to wonder how our choices would differ if we had to keep everything in a pile in the backyard. So the idea is to keep everything for a year and in doing so, be able to see how much waste I create and how much I can avoid.

One man's attempt to throw nothing "away" for a year.

by srcmax (via)

Toxic | Garbage Island | VBS.TV

by ronpish
ABOUT GARBAGE ISLAND For years we’ve been reading about a patch of garbage the size of Texas floating in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, ingeniously dubbed the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Basically, any trash that gets dumped in the water rides the currents to this one spot and joins an ever-increasing flotilla of crap. For all the breathless accounts of the mess and its impact on the area’s sealife, however, no one seemed to have a picture of the buildup.

The Mother of All Happy Macs Gives the Gift of Web 2.0

by sbrothier
The trash can. The happy mac. The bomb. The visual language of point-and-click computing came to life in the imagination of Susan Kare, a fine arts curator hired by Apple in 1983 to design the look and feel of the Macintosh interface. Her whimsical, easy-to-grok icons tempted even nontechies to pick up a mouse, and her sleek screen fonts — with jet-set names like Geneva and Monaco — launched the first wave of elegant digital typography.

Jango - Social Internet Radio

by garret & 3 others
"Like Last.fm and Pandora, Jango immediately creates a personalized radio station with songs by similar artists...But unlike the case with many of these other services, it's super easy to tailor your station—if you don't want to hear a particular artist, click the trash can icon; if you hate a particular song, rate it with a sad face and it'll never play again; if you want to add another main artist around which the station will be built, click "edit station", then enter the name of the artist." SF Gate: Multimedia (image)

It's no garbage strike - man keeps a year's worth of trash Ari Derfel of Berkeley has saved all of his trash and recycling for one year in an effort to see how much waste one person generates in 12 months. He would like to donate the trash pile to an artist.

Visualiser pour prendre conscience.

An open apology to the authors of jQuery, Prototype and others

by aspyrine & 1 other

To be fare, I’ve tolerated this kind of trash-talking amongst a few of our developers because it seemed to be one of their motivations - to make the best framework around. It was never, ever in any public discussion and seemed to be more like sniping for fun. This was a mistake and unprofessional on my part. Public or private, these other projects deserve our respect and admiration. We’re all trying to do the same thing, and while we like our approach, we learn things from everyone else’s methods as much as by our own ingenuity.
