rules for living well

by blackgoldfish
Choose quality over quantity with everything - shoes, friends, food - everything. Look into alternative forms of medicine. Take the time to figure out who you really are, what you like and dislike, what you need and don't. Live within your means and respect every dollar you make. Cultivate a passion. Eat Real Food! Stay away from processed and buy local whenever you can. Refuse to give in to texting. As hard as it is, acknowledge and work on whatever keeps you from living the life of your dreams. Refuse to play small or dim your light in order to make others comfortable. Listen to your body. Spend part of every day in silence, even if it's ten minutes. Create a living space that reflects who you are. Make visual beauty a priority. Tell people you love them often. Be true to yourself at all costs.

Shoebot | Main / HomePage browse

by karlcow

Shoebot is a pure Python graphics robot: It takes a Python script as input, which describes a drawing process, and outputs a graphic in a common open standard format (SVG, PDF, PostScript, or PNG). It has a simple text editor GUI, and scripts can describe their own GUIs for controlling variables interactively. Being pure Python, it can also be used as a Python module, a plugin for Python-scriptable tools such as Inkscape, and run from the command line. It was directly inspired by DrawBot and Shoes. Thus, "Shoebot."

littlebrownpen: Rue St. Paul

by blackgoldfish (via)
It's old, beautiful, and is just the type of Paris apartment I've always wanted to live in. It's small, which is challenging at times with two toddler boys, but the exposed wood, courtyard, and huge windows more than make up for any size-related dilemmas.

Swims (NOTCOT)

by sbrothier
Swims. First impression? Are these the tuxedos of crocs? Can i really go puddle jumping with these and protect my nice shoes (that aren’t heels.)? Love the photography! and web design! (particularly the way you access the gallery with the little stack of images on the far right. And then from there, i actually started reading… The Swims story is an interesting one of Johan, who grew up in norway and never let go of the galoshes that his grandfather had passed down to him… and as he moved to paris and new york and even put in his time at Parson’s he realized that there was a need to develop Swims, the “modern galoshes”. Being a socal girl, i have never gotten quite caught up on the vocabulary of people with “real weather”… apparently Galoshes are “overshoes that slip over the wearer’s indoor footwear but is made of waterproof material to protect the more delicate materials of the shoe as well as the wearer’s foot from cold and damp”.

SWIMS encourage you to seduce the rain! « kostas voyatzis

A galosh is an over shoe that sl ips over the wearer ’s indoor footwear but is made of waterproof material to protect the more delicate material s of the shoe as wel l as the wearer ’s foot from cold and damp. SWIMS are a reintroduction of the rubber overshoe, a practical accessory for men’s shoes that became popular in the late 1800’s and has protected elegant footwear in cities like London and New York ever since. “We have taken the concept one step further and added an element of timeless design, playfulness and improved functionality”.

Photofolies en Touraine

by axel
Bien avant le Mois de la Photo, la Touraine a fait bouillir les marmites de révélateur et de fixateur. Dans le révélateur, j'ai trouvé Dorothy Shoes à l'Atelier 37, et la Chapelle Sainte Anne à La Riche.
