Well-formed data » Thesis
This is an overview of the visualization and interaction experiments I produced for my Masters Thesis “Visual tools for the socio–semantic web” (.pdf, 12MB).
Thesis : BNM
Today, the sexuality is a taboo for elderly generations.
During my investigation, I have observed many prejudices about this topic in our society.
However, sexuality is always active over 70 years old.
I have revaled three specifics aims to start my project :
- Stimulate Sexual desire of elders into rest-home
- Educate practical nurses and students
- Sensitize general public about sexuality of elderly people
You can watch the differents ideas I suggested
to resolve these 3 problems in Diploma's part.
~IDENTITÄT – The »Gestalt« of digital identity
More than one hundred thousand personal raw data sets were crawled from the web to fill this parameters with subject matters. Based on the thesis that the digital identity is measurable and comparable these data sets were visualized using custom computational tools.
These studies were designed to understand the data and determine its characteristics regarding the construction of digital identity.
After the analysis phase the data was visually abstracted and interpreted to give the disembodied digital identity a unique and characteristic »Gestalt« in form of a generated sculpture.

All of this is a way of showing how Roy T. Fielding's 2000 PhD thesis on Representational State Transfer has utterly dominated the discourse of publishing through the web. It's an incredibly productive architectural idea, and it's been the primary area of experimentation and development for geeks like us since the implosion of the previous web bubble.
RDF Store Benchmarks with DBpedia
In the course of my diploma thesis, I evaluated the performance of several RDF stores when small pieces of information are requested from a large dataset (DBpedia infoboxes plus two very small sets). The benchmark queries employ varying levels of joins and constraints.
