Social Life of Paper ( connects to papernet ). it reminds me also of the japanese paper strips attached to a ring that japanese students used to study vocabulary. little *physical* piece of information accessible in discrete manner. mmmm thinking out loud. sense of satisfaction when sorting a pile of clothes, washing a big pile of dishes, making books straight. visible physical workIn my mind, they’re the ultimate to-do (or to-worry) list. So – why not make a to-do list out of flight strips? My life is very often like Heathrow arrivals.

Une étude publiée en 2007 [1] a démontré que les hommes sont plus attirés par les femmes quand elles sont en période de fécondité. Des chercheurs de l’Université du Nouveau-Mexique ont étudié les pourboires de 18 strip-teaseuses de danse-contact sur une période de 60 jours : ces pourboires augmentent de 40% à 80% pendant les périodes de fécondité. En revanche, les strip-teaseuses qui prennent la pilule contraceptive ont des pourboires qui ne varient pas.
Cette étude a gagné en 2008 le prix Ig Nobel ("Ig" pour "ignoble"), une parodie du Prix Nobel qui est décernée chaque année à 10 projets qui "font d’abord rire les gens, et ensuite les font réfléchir".

As we are getting regular news on the war on the Gaza strip, we may often lack background information. I’d like to share a very good set of small videos on the daily life of 6 peoples in Gaza and Sderot (in Israel, close to the border of the Gaza strip) despite the war situation. It happens to have been broadcast during one month just before the war made the headlines. It is called “Gaza-Sderot”, and it is available here.

One sense of fear, two armies, and three rows of electrical fences separate Israel and the Gaza Strip. For the past 10 years, it has been difficult for residents of these two places to ever imagine meeting one another in person. Now, thanks to a new documentary project produced by French/German television station Arte TV and a handful of Israeli and Palestinian production teams, residents of the besieged Israeli city of Sderot and the besieged Gaza Strip are able to see something they haven't seen in a decade: each other.

I am experimenting with a different approach to drawing the strip—I have switched from Corel Painter 8 to Lineform, a vector-graphics drawing program for the Mac. This is part of my plan to one day in the distant future to be able to draw a comic strip as vectors and present it in SVG.

It has been a very long time since the last Suhosin extension has been released, but today this has changed with the release of Suhosin 0.9.21. Among the changes are two new features that will protect applications that put too much trust into the SERVER variables from several XSS (and SQL injection) attacks. These features are suhosin.server.strip and suhosin.server.encode.

I found the sfBuilders that are responsible for stripping the comments from the generated propel classes and also saw that there is a addIncludes parameter in propel.ini. Lets reuse that and modify the Builders to strip the inline includes and requires.
I admit this is a tiny step, but some propel users are desperately searching for performance tweaks (as I am as well) so I hope this could be of use. I send this patch for inclusion in symfony 1.1.
