EMILIE JOHNSON: If you are looking down, why don't you see me?

by Spone
The 10th arrondissement of Paris is what many French people would still call "populaire" - which means a "working class" and diverse area. Our street from the very first day was a fascination to me. Each day there were groups of young guys standing around. They didn't speak French and they seemed to be from somewhere in the Middle East.

Another expression of this less-is-more approach to navigation is the Maps Optimised to the Vehicular Environment (MOVE) project at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Using variations of the LineDrive approach, the researchers found that drivers needed less time to understand navigational instructions presented semantically (in words and numbers) rather than symbolically (as street signs and corporate logos)

Serizawa at the Japan Society Museum- artnet Magazine

by sbrothier
I had the good fortune to tour the comprehensive survey of works by textile master Serizawa Keisuke at the Japan Society, curated with admirable rigor by the society's gallery director Joe Earle, with two formidable blondes, Alexandra Peers of the Wall Street Journal and Alice Judelson of I-20 Gallery. As Peers commented, using an old journalistic term, "They buried the lede," by putting the jewels of the exhibition, Serizawa's incomparable kimonos from the 1960s, in a back room of the gallery, where you might miss them.

Boris Hoppek @ upian - Paris | atractivoquenobello

by srcmax

This Friday street-artist Boris Hoppek himself will present his latest pieces for the first time in Paris at the upian artspace in the exhibition “Since1989“. You probably know Hoppek from his Bimbo Dolls series, expressive cloth figures which were featured in Übersee 1 and Pictoplasma 2 (and used by several advertisers).

26 Eye-Catching Long Exposure Photographs | Inspiration | PelFusion.com

by ghis
Long exposure is really amazing photography technique to capture light and movement. When an image is taken including stationary and moving subjects (for example, a fixed street and moving cars or a camera within a car showing a fixed dash-board and moving scenery) using a slow shutter speed, interesting effects, such as light trails occur.
