Dell PowerEdge T310 Server Overview

The Dell PowerEdge T310 is the company’s latest single-socket tower server.
Along with a single Intel Xeon 3400 Series quad-core CPU, the Intel 3420 chipset-based PowerEdge T310 includes up to 32GB of registered (RDIMM) or up to 8GB of unregistered (UDIMM) DDR3 memory, and up to four 3.5″ cabled or hot-swap SAS or SATA hard drives for a maximum of 4TB of internal storage.
The system has an onboard SATA controller without RAID functionality, but there’s a variety of additional storage controllers supporting up to RAID 10. The basic network adapter is an embedded dual Gigabit NIC, which can be accompanied by various single-, dual-, or quad- port Gigabit cards. For server management, customers can use the baseboard management controller and one of optional iDRAC6 controllers.
Dell’s T310 features the Matrox G200eW GPU, a DVD drive, optional PowerVault tape or hard drives for backups, and five PCIe Gen. 2 slots: two x8 slots (one with x16 connector), a x4 slot (with x8 connector), and two x1 slots.
Power supply options include a redundant 400W and a non-redundant 375W unit.
On the front of the chassis, the 20.5 inches deep tower server has an optional LCD screen for system monitoring.
The new PowerEdge comes without operating system or with one of Windows Server, Windows Essential Business Server, and Small Business Server editions, as well as with optional Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server or Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
The starting price for the Dell PowerEdge T310 is $949, with the 3Yr Basic Hardware Warranty included.

eeeXubuntu is a custom version of the Xubuntu 7.10 Live CD with fully-integrated hardware support, including native wireless drivers, functioning Ethernet support, tweaks for low-resolution desktop environments, and other miscellaneous fixes. Wherever possible, these changes are incorporated using custom .deb packages rather than spewing assorted files all over post-install.

The goal of this project is to maintain a easy-to-install Xubuntu Live CD image for the eeePC, allowing for a reliable base Xubuntu install. One strong advantage of development for the eeePC is a common hardware platform shared by all users. (Those who are missing a miniPCI slot may, of course, disagree.)

What is TVU networks?
TVU networks offers a free global live TV service that you can watch on your Windows PC over a broadband Internet connection. This service is dedicated to bringing you TV that you can't get from cable or satellite, such as news and sports from around the world.
The TVU service is accessed with a free downloadable Windows application, the TVUPlayer, which is available here. In the first year of service, the TVUPlayer has already been downloaded over 7 million times.
TVU uses a new broadcast technology called Real-Time Packet Replication. With this technology, all the viewers who are watching a channel at the same time are cooperating to give everyone the best possible signal. TVU's application does not create any new files on your hard disk because you're watching live TV.
Unlike typical Internet video broadcasts that use the older streaming technology, TVU's broadcasters do not need to dedicate more bandwidth for each additional user. This allows broadcasters to reach very large numbers of viewers at low cost. Because TVU can have an unlimited number of channels, TVU offers broadcasters opportunities denied to them by cable and satellite systems. Local broadcasters become global broadcasters; new channels can find a broadcast slot; and bigger broadcasters can create new channels to showcase content that they own but don't have space to broadcast on their existing channels.
Most exciting of all, viewers can become broadcasters using TVU networks' free Broadcast application. This application, combined with a standard-grade PC and a typical broadband Internet connection, allows anybody to become a broadcaster. This basic set-up allows any number of viewers world-wide to watch your channel.

A scene is a pleasant chunk to work on - small and well-defined, you can slot them into your novel, dragging and dropping them from one chapter to another as you interleave strands from different viewpoint characters and work out the overall flow of your book.
