Now here’s an app many creative professionals might find useful. The DSLR Remote iPhone app lets you trigger your camera’s shutter, adjust almost any of its settings, and view photos it’s taken. The catch, unfortunately, is that the camera needs to be wired to a computer for this to work. Even so, I can think of plenty of situations where this could come in handy, though admittedly there are few where a professional would absolutely need it. Still, the more tools you have, the more versatile your whole setup is, and who wouldn’t want to snap pics via their iPhone anyway?

Screen is a full-screen window manager that multiplexes a physical terminal between several processes. In short, you can have a few virtual terminal by using only one physical terminal. Screen is useful when you are accessing servers remotely, or running jobs on the background. When you want to run jobs on the background, it is very useful to run it inside one screen so that you can detached it, and simply log out without worry. If you have ever wanted to remotely control a computer running iTunes then this is your solution. Using the remote Mac's Bonjour name or I.P. address you can control most of the basic iTunes functions without ever touching the remote Mac. AtomPub is another option to allow you can now log in to your blog with an AtomPub-enabled client and publish, update and delete posts and media files remotely, without needing to log in to the administration section directly.
While remote posting has been possible using a number of protocols, AtomPub is a well defined protocol that should promote interoperability.
WordPress's AtomPub service address is http://[Blog URL]/wp-app.php/service. Your AtomPub client should be configured to point to that address.

Wake on LAN (WOL, sometimes WoL) is an Ethernet computer networking standard that allows a shut-down computer to be turned on remotely.
